What we collect, why we collect it, and what you can tell us to do with it. Written to be read, not survived.

Who we are

Avren is an online menswear shop trading at avren.club. For data protection purposes we are the data controller of the information described on this page. You can reach us at support@avren.club.

What we collect

When you order

Your name, email address, delivery address, billing address, a phone number if you give one, and what you bought. Card details are handled by our payment providers and never reach us or our systems.

When you join the list

Your email address, and whether you open and click what we send.

When you message us

Whatever is in the message, including any photographs you attach to a claim.

When you browse

Your IP address, device and browser type, and the pages you looked at. This arrives through cookies and similar technology.

Why we collect it

To take payment, pack your order and get it to the right address
To email you about that order
To answer you when you contact us
To send marketing email, but only if you asked for it
To spot fraud and keep the shop working
To understand which pages people actually use

Who we share it with

Only the people who need it to do a job for us:

Shopify, which hosts the shop and processes orders
Payment providers, who take the payment
Delivery partners, who need your address to deliver
Our email provider, if you are on the list
Analytics providers, in aggregate

We do not sell your data. We never have, and it is not a revenue line we have any interest in.

Cookies

Some cookies are necessary: they keep your basket full and let you check out. Others measure how the site is used, or support advertising. You can refuse the optional ones through the cookie banner, and clear or block all of them in your browser settings. The shop still works either way.

How long we keep it

Order records are kept for 6 years, because tax law requires it. Marketing data is kept until you unsubscribe. Support messages are kept for 2 years, so we can see the history if you come back to us.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us to:

show you what we hold about you
correct anything that is wrong
delete it, where we are not legally required to keep it
send it to you or someone else in a portable format
stop using it for marketing, which you can also do from any email we send

Email support@avren.club and we will action it within one month. If you are unhappy with how we handle it you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
